You Can Change Your Life with Minimal Effort.Journal_ChangeYourLife

Most of us have a pen and paper at our disposal right now. But what many of us don’t know, is that writing our thoughts can:

FREE OUR MIND and  LEAD US TO CLARITY, SOLUTIONS, and RESOLUTION.

We have this wonderful, magnificent brain whose storage potential is LIMITLESS.  With the proper tools, we can unleash our potential to manage life more effectively by tapping into this vast resource of knowledge.

Writing SLOWS DOWN the THINKING PROCESS…

Our brain loves to solve problems, and records absolutely everything we’ve ever experienced in life for future reference in solving issues and making sense of life.

That’s one of the reasons why we think about issues over and over,
even when we tell ourselves that things don’t matter, those very things are all we can think and talk about, because the issue remains unresolved in our mind.

Now imagine all the data stored from birth until right this minute.  Even as you are reading or hearing these words, it’s all being recorded- even if you don’t remember it in the next five seconds, -it is permanently recorded in our brain.

So let’s think of the brain as one big super computer,  constantly storing every single touch, smell, vision, sound, and experience you’ve had in life.

I think you can began to appreciate why our minds can go from one thought to another and another every second.

With so much data to process, you can see how it can be difficult to concentrate on an issue, to stay focused on what’s at hand.   We have all the information but cant focus long enough to access and use all this knowledge that can make our lives better.

WHATS ON YOUR MIND?
Research suggests that we manage between 60 to 80 thousand thoughts a day.
Think about when you’re sitting around doing nothing.  Your thoughts go from one thing to another to another. Every second or so, you could have a different thought.ManyThoughts1

Multiply 60 thousand thoughts, by 365 days that’s twenty one million, nine hundred thousand thoughts a year.

It’s no wonder we can feel overwhelmed, confused and stuck at times.

We Can’t Write as Quickly as We Can Think.

When you’re writing, the thinking process is forced to slow down.  We can’t physically write as fast as we can think.  When writing, you engage both the left and right side of the brain.open book

The left side controls the physical act of putting the letters on the paper to make words, while the right side of the brain, the creative piece –allows more insight, more possibilities., and MORE SOLUTIONS.

Writing forces us to sustain our attention on a given topic for a longer period than we normally would if we were just thinking about it.

Writing Forces Structure and Organization, and Allows You to Gain More Clarity with Your Thoughts.

And because writing is slower than thinking, each idea must be thought about in greater detail which expands opportunities to solve problems, find solutions, and get resolution.
