Day 3 – I Appreciate the People in my life.
EVERYBODY HAS ONE.
I can quickly list people I appreciate in my life that make me feel good. I feel fortunate to have been raised in a secure home with parents that sacrificed they time, energy and resources so that their children would have a better life’s experience.
And I can quickly list friends, teachers, and guides who have helped me on my journey thus far. But there’s a group of people who are just as important that I can name just as fast, and I’ve never let them know how much they have helped me grow. I bet you have a few as well.
I’M DREAMING
Imagine a world where your every wish is granted. Everyone in your orbit loves, supports and encourages you to live your best expression of God in physical form. Your feelings are never hurt. You feel supported, grounded, and frowns down exist. There are no misunderstandings, no diets and the weather is perfect ALL OF THE TIME.
Sounds heavenly right? But earth isn’t’ that place. And even humans that wield the most power and influence over others are never satisfied. Because Life is about Growth. And Growth needs FRICTION hence JACKASSES.
HERE’S TO JACKASSES
I won’t call names here but to all those folks in my orbit that have helped me move to new jobs, new relationships, new neighborhoods, and new careers. I APPRECIATE YOU. To those who commented about my weight gain, and silent about my weight loss. I APPRECIATE YOU. To all those have taken advantage of my kindness. I APPRECIATE YOU. And to you humans, that make the world NOT FUN – I APPRECIATE YOU TOO.
WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW
Abraham Hicks says something like “It’s in the knowing what you don’t want that you know what you do want”. I believe that everything in the Universe has purpose, especially Jackasses.
How would we know if we were being a Jackass if we never encountered one? And how would I learn to value our own self above the opinions of Jackasses if we never experienced one. Think of all the unfulfilling relationships that would never have ended if not for a Jackass.
And who better to teach us patience than a five year old having a tanturm because they don’t want to leave the ice skating ring, or Chuckie Cheese’s or the playground…(kids can be adorable lil jackasses too).
IT’S ALL GOOD
I hope I let the people who make me feel good know how much I love and appreciate them. And though personal growth, and radical forgiveness, I’m able to APPRECIATE ALL of THE PEOPLE IN MY LIFE. And so it is.
